Good Morning, Nursery.
I hope that you all had a lovely weekend.
Can you put the numbers 0-10 in order?
Today’s Maths task:
Make a set of number cards from 0-10. You could write the numbers yourself, ask a grown up to write them or print out these and cut them out:
You can decorate your number cards however you choose. Here are some ideas:
Once your number cards are finished, can you muddle them up and put them in the right order from 0-10?
If you are finding this very tricky, try putting the numbers 0-5 in order by yourself and then ask a grown up to write the numerals 6-10 in order for you to match with your number cards.
If you are finding it very easy, ask an adult to take some of the cards away. Then see if you can say the missing number and find the right number card or write down the right number to put in the gap.
Once you have finished, keep your numbers somewhere safe so that you can use them for future tasks.
I am looking forward to hearing all about your Maths today.
Love from Miss Siswick.
PRINTABLE VERSION: M Maths Monday
Dear Miss Siswick,
Nicolas enjoyed this exercise. He put the numbers from 0 to 10 in order. It was not quite correct (7 in the wrong place). I just told him to count the number line out loud and he corrected everything himself (“Oh, I put the 8 in the wrong place”). Second time round I took 2 and 4 away. He immediately told me which numbers were missing and were they have to go in the number line.
Greetings from Nicolas
Sam put all his numbers in order and when Mummy took away different numbers he was able to identify which number was missing. He even said “this is quite fun actually”.
Morning, Aoife enjoyed the tasks with the number cards and was able to put them in the right order and identify missing numbers.
Well done; Sam, Anna, Gabriel, Aoife and Nicolas.
I am glad that you enjoyed ordering the numbers to 10.
Next, you could try writing the numbers yourselves.
Good Morning Miss Siswick ,
Caspian counted Zero to Ten and put them in order very easily.
When I took away the numbers he was smiling and he identify the missing numbers .
Good morning, after writing (with help) and cutting the numbers, Adelaide put them on the floor and put the right number of shells next to them. I then took the card and asked her to put them in order. She did it properly apart from 0 which she said was ten. I then hid numbers and asked her to find which ones; she did enjoy that game.
Thank you.
Well done, Caspian and Adelaide. Great ordering of the numbers.
Esme had a lot of fun designing her number cards and finding the missing number with different levels of difficulty.
James’ maths 0-9 work has been sent. First completed in pencil. More legible pre-decoration.
Grace wrote numbers out. We made number cards 0-10 and she ordered them. I took random numbers away which she noticed and got right except one of the times she didn’t notice the 5. She loves playing with the cards!
Good morning Miss Siswick,
Alexander enjoyed the activity. He correctly put the numbers in the right order after they were muddled up and also was able to identify the missing numbers. We also practised writing the missing numbers.
Well done; Esme, Grace, Alexander and James. I am glad that you had fun practicing the numbers today.
Good work nursery!
Ania colored her numbers. She was able to sort out all the numbers. When I took her number, she guessed which number had disappeared. She had a great time
Well done, Ania. You wrote the numbers beautifully too.
Joey enjoyed this but he’s feeling camera shy today so dumbo and Mabel stepped in instead!
I thought that Mabel and Dumbo had put all the numbers in order today, Joey!
Hello nursery,
Fiadh was able to put the numbers in the correct order. She put a shell on each number and said 10 shells. She was able to identify the missing numbers. Fiadh enjoyed the activity.
Well done, Fiadh. I am glad that you enjoyed the activity.
So did I Miss Siswick! I thought not only do we have such clever children but very intelligent babies and elephants too! Super ordering Nursery. ?
