Good morning Year 6 🙂
I’m missing the sunshine and seeing blue sky out of my window!
Birthdays!
3 special children have had their birthday since we have been at home! A special Happy Birthday to Charles, Gaspard and Shun-please click for your birthday card below!!
I am missing you all! This is a very strange time for us all and each of us (teachers included!) will feel anxious and worried sometimes.
This blog today is a chance for you to share how you are getting on at home and how you are managing to look after yourselves.
Do you have any tips for keeping happy and healthy?
To alleviate my worries, I try and keep busy! In the morning before I start work, I do 30 minutes of yoga which I really enjoy! After I finish my work in the evening I have a ‘hobby hour’. In this hour I do lots of different things such as: cooking, calligraphy, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and sport.
I have made cinnamon buns (which got eaten very quickly!) sourdough bread and marmalade. For me personally, cooking helps me to relax!
I have also been doing some gardening which I find very therapeutic. I have grown a tiny avocado plant from an avocado stone…it’s still very tiny but exciting to see it grow a little bit each day!
I also love catching up with friends and family online-we do ‘Zoom quizzes’ which are always very fun and make me laugh a lot!
Sleep zzz…
Sleep is so important! But sometimes, falling and staying asleep can be hard if you are worried, stressed or anxious.
Have you seen Miss Coleman’s post? This guide can help you.
What have you been up to? Send in some photos if you would like! We can’t wait to hear how you all are as we miss you all lots!
Thank you to all of you who have sent in photos of your work. Have a look at some of this work below and keep them coming!
Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy xx
Hello Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy,
To keep me busy, I like to do drawing and sketching which helps me to be calm. I also have a mini garden on my balcony which I have fun watering and watching it grow. I also love calling my friends and family which lets us catch up. Thank you for all your advice and ideas which I will have fun doing.
I’m glad to hear that you are sketching-you have a super artistic talent! I’m glad to hear that you are also doing some gardening-I agree, it is lovely to see things grow!
Hello everyone,
I start my day by having breakfast and starting my homework. Then I might play a board games or jigsaw puzzle with my sister for some fun. I also enjoy sewing or cooking with my mum. To keep healthy I go out once a day to keep fit and have fun with my family.
Sewing-thank you for reminding me, I used to love sewing! I also enjoy jigsaw puzzles; my sister and I are doing one at the moment. I find them very satisfying!
Hello Miss Gorick! I have been up to many things:
– Making cakes with my mum
– Building a model bus (1:12 scale original Routemaster!)
– Doing some coding
– Watching telly
– Making things
And much more things! I will upload many photos of these!
Wow Charles, it sounds as if you have been busy! I’d love to see a photo of your model bus (and the other things that you have been getting up to!)
Charles, your bus is incredible! I was not expecting such a wonderfully professional model-I will add it to the blog above!
My dad also builds the bus with me – I accidentally forgot to mention it!
Good Morning Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy,
I bet those cinnamon buns were really nice and I have made soda bread on my own. You can keep clean and healthy by cycling round your neighbourhood and kicking a ball around, in the park.
Miss Gorick, I was wondering if you could give me the recipe on how to make the sourdough bread you made.???
Wow! Soda bread, I would love to try that! I used this recipe. https://www.theclevercarrot.com/2014/01/sourdough-bread-a-beginners-guide/
You have to make a starter first of all (which takes about 5 days) but it is well worth the wait!
Thank You Miss Gorick!
To keep myself busy I find that drawing and baking are very fun to do when you are bored!
I would love to see some of your drawings Lola-please send them in if you would like to!
I agree with Lola.
I have uploaded the pics! They are in two separate messages.
To keep me busy I usually cycle around my neighbourhood, doing exercises and play video-games with my next-door neighbour with social distances!?????
Exercising at a social distance, that’s a great idea!
I also play with my next-door neighbour cat and dog!
Hello Miss You seem to be coping well. Please save me some cinnamon rolls!! ??
In the morning I wake up and eat my breakfast and do my homework. In the afternoon I do some meditation and yoga, unfortunately we have to do a very flexible yoga lesson due to my sisters flexibility. I seem to getting better as I can almost do an aerial (no handed cartwheel). I go out to the park after lunch and then eat my dinner and go to bed.
We are still trying to get the hang of things but we are doing ok.
They were delicious Nina! That sounds brilliant well done, I am also trying to get more flexible. It definitely takes time!
Good morning Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy!
During this lockdown, I have been:
-Cooking and baking
-FaceTime my friends
-Going on walks
-Art

Virtual hugs!!
We all need virtual hugs at the moment!
Hi everyone!
To keep myself busy in these times,i have previously made a deliiiiiiicios lemon drizzle cake!We have also just got uno the card game and scrabble! I reallly love playing them as scrabble helps me with spelling and grammar! But one thing that i have done(i am very pleased with myself)i learned to ride a bike! Now i know how to ride,i might be able to get my own as i was practising on my sisters!
I love lemon drizzle cake ? I wish I could have a slice!
Hi everyone! I hope you’re all staying safe! To keep myself busy, I’ve created little houses\rooms out of cardboard boxes that have been lying around my house. I’ve also participated in a mascot competition for the Paul Bakery. I created a little pretzel holding the French flag and a Paul bag with a baguette in it out of clay. Sadly, I didn’t win, but it was very fun making it! I recommend making small things out of cardboard if you have any cardboard lying around your house, it’s really fun!
Shun?
Hi Shun what a fun idea! Please send some photos in as I would love to see them 🙂
I’ve just seen your Paul mascot! It is so cute and very creative ? ?? Did you make it out of clay?
Good morning Miss,
I usually wake up and have breakfast, then I do my homework. Then:
-I draw (I’m going to upload some pictures)??
-I read?
-I sometimes play video games (Lego Star Wars ‘The Force Awakens’ is the best)?
-I cook?
-I build huge spaceships out of lego for my brothers?
-I play board games with my mum and brother(these are the best, try them out: Carcassonne, Dominion and Catan Junior)?
-I make forts out of cushions
– And finally, I listen to music.?
that’s what I do.
Forts out of cushions? What fun, please send on some photos!

Good morning everyone,
Before starting my school work, I try to complete a session of Joe Wicks PE followed by listening to a short blog on writing. After completing my school homework, I may play video games with my friends, practice playing songs on my keyboard, bake biscuits or a cake or exercise with my parents in the garden near my home.
That sounds great Anahi ? what songs have you been learning? ?
Oh and also, miss, did you get the drawings i sent you?
Hi Ariella! I have just received your super drawings-it is lovely to see you artistic talent!
Hello Miss Gorick and Mrs Healy,
To keep busy during these challenging times, my household has been doing quite a lot of baking. My mum showed us how to make a trifle and my sister and I also helped her bake a coconut cake. Apart from that, my mum thought it would be a good idea to make our own masks so I cut out a 40 by 30 cloth from old dresses that don’t fit me or my sister anymore. I had to sew elastic together to make a band and then I had my mask! I will send a picture in if I can find it. We also go on daily walks around outer regents park and it is approximately 2.7 miles. Whilst going on this walk we can see the Giraffes from London Zoo.
Wow! You sound like you have been very creative. Coconut ? cake sounds delicious ?
Thank you Jade and Gabriel, I have just received your photos of you delicious looking baked goods and super pictures! I’ve added them to the gallery ?
Miss Gorick I don’t remember how to send pictures in can you send a link or tell me?
Hi Haleema 🙂 click this link for instructions https://www.stvincentsprimary.org.uk/news/sharing-photos-and-files/
And i have ALSO been to my old flat to pick up a few things. We found a ‘wii’
If you don’t know what that is,it is a really fun and a bit old game that you can connect to the tv and play with your family!if you search it up,i think you will get a better idea of it,i have been playing sports games on it which is really fun for keeping you fit and healthy when you cant go out.!
My sister and I found our old ‘wii’! We have been having lots of laughs playing all our old games…it said I hadn’t been ‘active’ for 5800 days!
Good afternoon!
