Good Morning, Reception.
Well done for your fantastic sock Maths yesterday!
Today we are going to solve some word puzzles about socks and shoes. You can record your answers in any way that you chose and you could use real socks and shoes to help you to work out the answers!
When you are working out the difference (how many more?) between two groups, it can make it easier to draw or use real objects and lay them out like this:
That way it is easier to see how many more there are in one group than the other.
Try this one first:
Now try these ones:
I am looking forward to hearing all about your Maths today.
Love from Miss Siswick.
PRINTABLE VERSION:R Maths Weds 6.5
It would really help me if you could upload photos straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.
Good morning Miss Siswick, we can’t access to the R maths today 🙁

Sorry, everybody. I think it is my computer that has failed!

Hi!!!!
I was rubbish at drawing socks and boots. But at the end I got better.
Are you good at drawing socks and boots?
It was easy to do the sums!
Typed by Marcus Clark!
x + x + x + x = 4 kisses!
Well done, Marcus. I don’t think I am very good at drawing shoes and socks either. You are very good at typing though!
I did the exercise and I sent a picture.
