Good Morning Year 6! We will be continuing our Religious Education topic-Pentecost.
Last week, you produced some beautiful interpretations of the following quote from Luke’s Gospel:

Christians believe that the spirit of God is active in each person and in a special way in the community of believers which is the Church. The Feast of Pentecost is the celebration both of the gift of God’s Holy Spirit and the trust God places in people to be witnesses in the world.
Each of us, by the way we live our lives, the way we treat others, and by our words and actions, show if we have an attitude of service. Isn’t that exciting!?
Often, we are especially influenced by those whose actions speak powerfully of a life of service.
Word of God
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”
Luke 4: 18-19

Good morning,
We can use the spirit of God to “bring Good News to the poor” and “ to let the oppressed go free” all for the good of others. He also wants us to do as God wants and to teach what Jesus has taught us to others.
The spirit of God within me is calling me to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and to fulfill my mission as everyone has one. It is also calling me to have more compassion and respect towards others and to have more faith in God, especially during these hard times.

Here are my answers:
– You can use the spirit of God within you to make others feel good by filling them with the spirit of God. “I have filled him with the Spirit of God” (Exodus 31:3)
– To be honest, I don’t actually know what the Spirit of God is calling me to do but I guess I will feel it when I get older.

Here are my answers;
Q1) You can use the spirit of God within you to help others in need and you will not boast to anyone that you have helped anyone or say that you will get a really big award. All you need to know is to treat and love others as you would have liked to be treated and loved.
Q2) I think the spirit of God within me is calling me to love others and to help God spread his Good News. Also I think it is giving me the opportunity to be with Him and to live a full pure life as God’s servant.

1) You can use the spirit of God within you to treat others with respect and to encourage people to not do the wrong thing. You should treat everyone like you would like to be treated.
2)I think the spirit of God within me is calling me to be kind to others and to spread the Good News. I also think that it is calling me to be more compassionate.

1) We can use the spirit of God to help others, we can keep others safe and help them be a better person. Sometimes we can help cheer them up by just smiling at them!
2) I think the spirit of God is calling me to be more like Jesus, I think he wants me to follow Jesus’ footsteps and tell others about the Gospel and the Good News.

Here are my answers:
1.) Kindness- many people don’t realise how big of an effect they have on a person, but being kind means you are always trying to be nice and helpful and careful with the words you use and the stuff you say that might hurt a person.
2.) Help and serve others. Sometimes, I can be very lazy but we all have that will to do something and what about helping. If you’re bored but your mum’s in the kitchen with a stack of dishes in the sink you could always do them for her.

1. You can use the spirit of God within your to help when they need help and you should treat others with respect and care. But the best way is to love and treat others how you want to be treated.
2. I think the spirit of God is calling me to be brave and push myself to be a better person, now and when I am older, so that when ever I face a problem I can get through it.

I think that we can use the Holy Spirit of God within us to do good to others for example helping your loved ones,caring for friends and being kind just like Jesus wants us to be.I keep on saying you could do nice things to people you care about and thats true because remember we are God’s big family and we should care for anyone within it.Even if that person who is a complete stranger (homless) needs are help we should be there to help them (smile) or (work in charities that trie to help,even donate to charities).God put the Holy Spirit inside us and we should use it following his paths and doing GOOD.
The Holy Spirit within be and like most people is calling me to follow Jesus/God’s footstep sharing the good news and continuing to be faithful so that the Catholic faith grows and more people know about Jesus miracles and God’s love towards everyone.We should try and find things to help anyone who needs it especially the less fortunate.God calls people sometimes and talks to them telling them to begin a job that will help anyone who needs it,or to help children…
I have reflected on these with my sister and we both agree God basically want us to use the Holy Spirit to share,tell and show people his never ending love.

Just asking if the picture at the top of this blog is supposed to take us to the year 2s RE?
How strange! I don’t know why it does that…
1)I can use the spirit of God within myself for the good of others by being kind and using my heart to truly express my generosity and love, as the Titus 3:4-6 refers to; ‘But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour was revealed, he saved us. It was not because of any good deeds that we ourselves had done, but because of his own mercy that he saved us, through the Holy Spirit who gave us new birth and new life by washing us.’
2)The spirit is calling me to spread the word of God and the Gospel with others.

You can treat others fairly and with respect, and think about what God would think about what you are going to do, and do something that pleases, helps or makes people happy.
