Yesterday marked one year since the Grenfell tragedy. In the days after the fire, the Grenfell community came together in a great show of unity, and an enormous amount of support poured in from across the whole of the UK. Today at school we supported the UK-wide Green for Grenfell Day and celebrated the spirit of people coming together.
Green for Grenfell Day aims to spur people across the UK to celebrate solidarity and diversity within their own communities by working together on a project of their choosing. Today children could wear green to school, or add a green accessory to their uniform (e.g. wristband, socks, hair bow) and make a donation to the Catholic Children’s Society. This will support their work, including their Crisis Fund, mental health services and community projects.
Thank you to everyone who join us in promoting unity and community spirit on 15th June. We continue to remember everyone affected by Grenfell in our prayers.
