Good Morning Year 2!
Today I need your help! We are always trying to make the blogs better and to choose different activities and ideas that you will enjoy. So today I need you to tell me what you have enjoyed so that I can do more of them! Have a look back on all of our fun activities on the Year 2 blogs.
Some questions to think about:
- Which activities have you liked the most? Why?
- If you could choose an activity to do, that hasn’t already been done, what would it be?
- Which activities have you been able to do without your parents help?
- Which websites have you enjoyed using?
Please let me know so that I can make our Home Learning even more fun for us! Hope you are your families are all keeping well.
Miss Carruthers 🙂
I really liked the maths challenge.
I would like to do science and crafts and write about what we did.
I liked busythings website.
Thank you for your feedback Madeleine. Starting tomorrow, we will have more daily Maths that will be using our Maths No Problem worksheets.
I will make sure we have more science and craft activities that we can do – please send in any pictures of your crafts so that I can show them to the class!
I have enjoyed the maths challenges the most because it’s fun doing the problems.
I would do an activity where the class could all talk to each other and do videos and posters and see if everyone in the class likes them.
I have been able to do the writing tasks in the homework book without my parents help.
I have enjoyed using Busy Things, especially the easter egg hunting. I’ve enjoyed using the school website too. I like the way we can learn on it.
That’s a lovely idea Nadine – I have loved seeing everyone’s work and posting them on the website for others to see, but it would be even better if we could see each others’ faces! I’ll try to think of some activities where you could send in photos/videos of yourselves and then I’ll show them on the website.
You’ve done lots of writing which is excellent!
Dear Miss Carruthers,
1. I liked the daily SPaG blog because I like to write on the IPad and the reading diary because I love reading.
2. Activities: Science (leaves), music (ten pieces) and the big question topics about the rainforest and recycling.
3. Reading and some science blogs.
4. Busy things.
Greetings from Sophia
I know how much you’ve enjoyed reading, I have loved reading all your reviews and comments about the books!
I’m glad you enjoyed the music activity so much, Mr Rees told me about the website and it was fascinating to learn about some of the famous pieces of music.
Dear Miss Carruthers,
I enjoyed my Easter holidays. I jumped on the trampoline in my garden and had ice-cream. I did my Maths booklet and I really enjoy Colouring by numbers.
I’m so glad you had a good holiday! I love colouring by numbers too. What did you have to do in your Maths booklet?
I used to love colouring by numbers when I was your age too Klara.
1. Can we do some cooking because I realized that it’s fun.
2. We haven’t done as much cooking so we could do that.
3. Some daily SPaG is very fun and quite easy.
4. I enjoy playing busy things because the Easter egg hunt is quite cool and I have done it.
I also love to cook as it is fun to make meals and treats for my family. I’ll try and include some cooking ideas in our activities. If you do manage to do some cooking, you can send in a photo and the recipe and we can all share ideas!
Dear Miss Carruthers,
We hope you had a wonderful Easter ?!
We agree with Nadine! It will be great if we can have a way to share our projects with our friends. For us would be better send our homework in a different way then blogs because it takes time for us to type. We do all homework on our yellow book so we can practice spelling and handwriting and because we don’t have computers always available.
We liked the math challenge homework!
I think the blog is the best way to share our projects with each other. Any photo you send in, will be put up on the relevant blog so we can all keep seeing each other!
Typing can take a really long time. Later in the week we are doing some writing. It might be easier to write these in your Home Learning book and then send in a photo. I’ll still write a comment on the blog so you will still get your work marked.
Hi Miss,
I like English and the science topic about the leaves.
I also enjoy comprehension and drawing but I think busythings is my favorite!
Bye, Bo
I know lots of children have enjoyed playing Busy Things at home. What has been your favourite activity?
I liked the maths challenge and I also love Mathletics. I have been busy playing busy things too. During the holidays I have been doing lots of cooking.
I’m glad you are enjoying all the Maths activities. What is your favourite one on Mathletics?
I’ve been doing lots of cooking too! What have you been making?
1/ I like doing maths challenges because the questions were hard.
2/ I would do singing online like my guitar lessons.
3/ The comprehension and maths worksheets
4/ Busy things
It would be great to do some more singing. I’ll ask Mr Rees if he has any good ideas for how we can do that at home.
I like doing everything on the blog because I love learning. My favourite thing is the Spag and english. I like busy things and mathletics.
I can do the Spag without help.
Well done for doing some of the activities by yourself. Have you been playing the swimming Maths game on Busy Things? I know how much you love it!
Wow Jack. I know you love learning and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the blog so much. I can imagine you right now on Busy Things! How amazing that you can do Spag without help.
Dear Miss Carruthers,
I liked the maths challenge because I like to answer difficult questions.
I would like arts and craft homework.
Thank you
Thanks Marie, I think lots of children would like more arts and craft so I’m going to make sure we do more of that!
Hi Finley, Miss Carruthers and year 2,
This is Mr Rees. We often use a website called SingUp for some of the songs we sing at school. There’s a section called ‘SingUp at home’ https://www.singup.org/singupathome with lots of songs you can sing along to at home. Hope this helps!
Dear Class 2,
Thank you for your feedback, this is really useful. I’ll have to look at the Easter egg hunt activity as that sounds fun!
I miss your singing so I hope you do practice at home.
Take care,
Miss Coleman
