Our new religious education topic is ‘Good News’. In this topic, we will be recalling the good news of Easter and learning about how the disciples shared the good news at Pentecost.
First, we will explore what ‘good news’ means and how it makes us feel.
Read the story ‘The Little Egg’ by Tanya Landman (in the attached gallery) with a grown up and think about these questions:
- What happens to the egg in the story?
- What was good news for the mother hen?
- How do you think the mother hen felt?
- Do you have any good news that you would like to share?
- How did your good news make you feel?
James’ good news at Easter was that he found lots of Easter eggs and also had school holidays so he could play more. That made him feel happy.
We couldn’t read the boom as it wouldn’t load but we talked about Easter.
Hi there. I’m so sorry-the book is in the attached gallery with each page in order. I should have been clearer. I’ll change it now.
Thank you Miss Siswick. Luke will redo with James post-lunch.
????
Caspian enjoyed the story and asked me to read it a few times , he decided to tell the story him self to his mum and sister .
Caspian answered the first question by saying the egg fell of its nest into the forest .
Question two – Caspian answered mother hen was so cuddly and happy.
Caspian good news was the Easter egg hunt and the arrival of the Easter bunny .
I felt good.
Well done, Caspian. Can you tell me what the good news was for the mother hen?
1. The egg rolled down the hill, it woke up the bunnies and then the owl came and snatched the egg. Then the owl let go of the egg. The egg cracked. A little baby Kücken [chicken] came out and it was with his mummy.
2. Good news for mother hen: She got her baby’s back. The baby was not eaten by the fox and the owl.
3. She felt happy.
4. The Easter bunny came and brought me a Duplo police car.
5. Happy
Greetings from Nicolas
Well done, Nicolas. The Easter bunny brought you something he knew would make you happy!
1)An egg was in its nest. A stone-broke it. The egg rolled down the hill. (James is saying). It went past the fox, into a bunny hole. The bunnies threw it out. The owl was flying after it. The owl picked it up and dropped it on a wolf.
It cracked more and the chick came out and flew back to his nest to his mummy.
2) Because the mother hen was sleeping while the egg was rolling and when she woke her chick was there.
3) surprised
4) I have a big white doggy
5) Happy

Well done, Adelaide. I love the way that you recognised that the mother hen would have been sad and then happy.
The mother hen felt happy because her baby was born.
Aoife was happy over Easter as she had an Easter egg hunt and found lots of little chocolate eggs! She also really enjoyed making Theo’s birthday cake and celebrating his birthday.
Well done, Aoife. You understood the story well. I hope Theo had a nice birthday.
