Instead of writing out pence each time we can write p
1 pence = 1p
2 pence = 2p
Instead of writing out pound(s) each time we can write £
1 pound = £1
2 pounds = £2

I did it!
Well done! I hope you tried the challenges!
Good morning Miss Travers,
I enjoyed working with the coins this morning. I found notes more tricky, but I completed all the worksheets!
For the first challenge, I got:
1. 10 + 2 + 5 + 2 =19
2. 5 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 2 = 19
3. 5 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 19
Well done Flavia! Yes the notes are a bit more tricky! Well done for doing the challenge.
I think I found the 3 different way to get 19p:
10p+2p+5p+2p= 19p
5p+10p+2p+2p= 19p
2p+2p+5p+10p=19p
——————————————————————————————
10p+2p= 12p(for the lollipop)
10p+20p= 30p (for the teddy)
14p to buy the rubber
4p is the cost of the ballons
Good work Junior! That is correct!
Dear Miss Travers.
I have completed my Maths No Problem 1B pages 119-124 and I will email them to you.
Banana is 6 p =

1p + 1p + 1p +1p +1p +1p
Strawberry is 3p

I recognise and understand the value of
£5
£10
£20

There are 4 x £5 notes
There are 5x £10
There are 3 x £20
There are 4x £50
Challenge

1x10p +1x5p + 2x2p = 19p
3x5p + 2x2p = 19p

2p x 10 = 20p
2p x 5 + 5p x 2 = 20p
10p x 2 = 20p
10p + 5p x 2 =20p
5p x 4 = 20p
5p x 2 + 2p x 5 = 20p
2 is an even number
10 is an even number
5 is an odd number
I had to be careful as I was mixing odd and even numbers to find the answers.
Well done Isabella! I have got your sheets too, excellent work.

All done! We went to school to pick up the maths no problem
book today. It easier!
Great, I’m glad it was easier working from the books.
Hi Miss Travers, I did the Maths No problem! I’ve a little bit difficulty with the change then I will practice it with my mum to playing of the grocery store 🙂
Hello Mateus, working out change is more tricky. Remember it’s just you have paid too much so the other person has to give some money back.
If a dinosaur cost 7p and you only had a 10p coin, you would give the person your 10p and the other person would give you 3p change.
10p-7p=3p. You just have to work out the difference in prices.
I did it in my maths book I had only 3 pages to do because I already did the other three pages. It was easy.
Well done! I hope you did the challenges!
Hello Miss Travers,
Banana 6p:
1p+5p=6p

2- 2p+5p+2p+5p+5p
3- 2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p+5p
Using only 2p, 5p and 10p coins, can you show 20p?

2- 5p+5p+5p+5p
3- 5p+5p+2p+2p+2p+2p+2p
