Well done for your reading and completing your comprehension work yesterday. We will complete our final piece of writing based on this story on Thursday.

Today’s focus is:
Grammar

Recap:

Verbs are doing or being words.
They play video games.

Exclamation marks can be used to finish sentences with.
Use an exclamation mark to show that something was said loudly “Watch out!” I cried.
You can also use exclamation marks to show strong emotions, such as anger, fear or surprise. There’s a snake in the house!

Adjectives are words that tell us more about a noun.
An angry man.

Similes compare different things. They usually use the words like or as.

Task 1
Answer the questions below. Before posting on the blog, read over your work to check your punctuation.

Task 2
Now we have revisited these skills lets practise using them in our writing.

1. Mr Majeika has gone missing!
Write some sentences using adjectives to describe what Mr Majeika looks like.
2. Write three similes of your own.

    A Quetzalcoatlus’ eyesight is like a telescope because it can see baby tyrannosaurs 3 miles away (4.5km).
    An ant can carry a weight that is 10 times as heavy as itself (a leaf).
