Good Morning, Nursery.
Well done for telling us all so many amazing things about Jesus on Tuesday.
Today, we are going to be thinking more about what happened at Pentecost.
This is from the book of Acts in the Bible:
‘The Holy Spirit had arrived. The time had come for the disciples to break out of their room and tell the world the glorious message! Thousands of people listened as Peter told them all about Jesus. They were amazed. The people said, “What Good News!” That day, 3,000 people were brought into God’s family and were baptised. It was a beautiful beginning to a wonderful new life for them.’ (Acts 2: 1-6)
The Bible tells us that on the day of Pentecost, three thousand people were brought into God’s family and baptised. Now, nearly two thousand years later, more than two billion people in the world have been baptised into God’s family!
We call Pentecost the birthday of the church because people who had never met Jesus when he was alive, heard the good news about him for the very first time.
Can you make a birthday card for the church ?
Pentecost will be celebrated on Sunday May 31st but we probably won’t be able go to church to celebrate this year.
Can you plan a birthday celebration for the church at home with your family?
The special colour in the church for Pentecost is red. You could plan your celebration with red clothes, food and decorations.
I am looking forward to seeing your birthday cards and hearing your ideas.
Love from Miss Siswick.

We also talked about her baptism!

Lovely birthday cards for the church, Grace and Esme.
Hello nursery,
Fiadh drew a card with Jesus in heaven and Mary with the cross of Jesus next to her.
That sounds beautiful, Fiadh. I am looking forward to seeing it.
I can see your beautiful card now, Fiadh. Well done.
Alexander made a card with a cross on the front and some colouring. It read ‘Happy Birthday church’ inside the card.
Well done, Alexander. I especially like the cross that you have drawn.
The Holy Spirit came as flames and your cards have made me feel warm inside.
