Good morning Year 6 and welcome to today’s History lesson.
We are currently living through a period of history. We will look back on this period in history in years to come and tell our grandchildren and they will find it hard to believe!
Timeline
Today, we are going to create a timeline. Timelines are a listing of events in chronological order that can make history much easier to understand. They help us to make sense of the time frame between events.
You can also make personal timelines listing important things that have happened in your life or a family timeline showing your own family’s history.
Have a look at some examples below:
Task:
Yesterday, we thought about William Shakespeare and today I would like you to research any famous poet or playwright and create a timeline documenting significant events in their life.
You could complete your timeline in one of the following ways:
· Draw it in your Home Learning Book
· Create a poster
· Create a timeline on the computer
· Create a PowerPoint
Make sure that your timeline is in chronological order!
Watch this video to ensure that you construct your timeline correctly.
When you have completed your project, upload a photo or record an interesting fact below!
