Good Morning, Nursery.

Well done for your great Maths work yesterday.

As you enjoyed comparing objects and using size language yesterday, today we are going to explore some more measuring activities.

You can choose any of these activities to try today:

  • Can you find out who is the tallest in your home? Who is the shortest? Who is in the middle?

  • Draw around your hands or feet. Who has the smallest hands or feet? Who has the biggest? Who is in the middle?

  • Can you make longer and shorter play dough worms and snakes?

  • Can you use a spoon for measuring?  Go around your home and see if things are the same size, shorter or longer than the spoon.

  • Can you make a paper chain? The chain will get longer, the more you add. You could measure by counting how many links there are altogether.

  • Can you collect lots of very little things? What other words can we use for small?

  • Can you have fun measuring things around your home using a ruler or a tape measure?

Here are some words to help you to talk about your measuring:

I am looking forward to hearing the activities that you chose and how you got on.
Love from Miss Siswick

PRINTABLE VERSION:N Maths Friday

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.
