Writing
Today is an opportunity to write and share your first paragraph of writing. Write your first paragraph in your yellow book and then type this up on the blog.
I am working at the school hub today so I can’t post feedback on all of your writing pieces today. However, I will read them when I get home, and will comment on all of your final pieces tomorrow 🙂

Remember, you are writing a Guinness World Record entry about the school breaking the record for their sandwich making!

Largest collection of Blu-Tac.
In 2020, on the 14th of May, a man called Frank set a record for the biggest Blu-Tac collection. It was 3 metres long and 2 metres tall!
A team from Guiness World Records paid Frank a visit to see his colossal block of Blu-Tac. They were amazed that someone would collect that much Blu-tac!

School makes 868 sandwiches could be a world record.
This school in California beated the world record of 490 sandwiches and they made 868 in three minutes!
The school was making sandwiches for the Alpha Project. The alpha project is a place where they make food for charity and bring the food there.
When the timer started they were rushing to beat the world record. There were bread flying everywhere! The ingredients were bread cheese and lettuce.
When there were five seconds they was a countdown to five to zero. When it came to zero everyone was high fiving and cheering.
April 1st was the big day. They will be delivering the sandwiches to the Alpha Project.

A school makes 868 sandwiches in 3 minutes could you make 868 sandwiches in 3 minutes ? But these children did they may have broken a record of making so many sandwiches.
These sandwiches were made for people in need so they also helped their community. These amazing children go to San Diego Jewish Academy in California. Chaim Heller the headteacher said he wanted them to change the world he also said “It is not enough to talk about making the world better students must get involved”
Parents called the Guinness Book of records they will say if it is broken or set. The Guinness gave the school some rules. They had to take a video of making the sandwiches. Also somebody had to check the sandwiches if they were finished or they wouldn’t count. April 1st was the day. It took place in the school gym.
50 more tables were set up. On the tables were cheese, tomatoes, bread and lettuce. Then when they all went into the gym they started making. Everything was flying across the room there was 5 seconds left and they finished in time.
Adults checked and they counted 868 !!! They delivered the sandwiches to the Alpha project where they deliver these to charity.

A team from the Guinness World Records paid a visit to students and staff in San Diego Jewish Academy Californiato see them in action to try and beat a workd record of making sandwiches for a charity.
But it is not as easy as you think because the GWR had given them some rules, they only had 3 mn and if a sandwich was not finished , it didnt count. Using teamwork, the staff and children were maybe able to beat a workld record because the last school was only able to make 490 sandwiches in 3mn and they were able to make 868 sandwiches in 3mn. But they also had to make a video of them doing it. In their sandwiches, there were two slices of bread, mustard, tomatoes, two slices of cheese and lettuce.

Children in California have broken a new world record in 3 minutes. People from the Guinness World record team went to the school to see the event take place.
The teachers and children set up the table by putting a blue cloth down and they laid out all the ingredients. Once they put their gloves on they waited for the timer to start.
As soon as the timer began the staff and children started making sandwiches. The hall was as quiet as a mouse!
Everyone was rushing like a cheetah and they made a lot of mess because they wanted to break the world record!
The children had 5 seconds left and quickly made another 10 sandwiches . Finally the Guinness World Record counted them and the teacher was amazed because they made 868 sandwiches!

Record Breaking of Making Sandwiches in 3 Minutes:
The students of San Diego Jewish academy are planning to make sandwiches for the homeless and to break the record in the Guinness World Book Records. Previously another school made 490 sandwiches in 3 minutes for a charity called The alpha project. The students also learned about helping the community. They are hoping to enter their names in the Guinness World Book of Records.

It was a Monday morning at San Diego Jewish Academy, the children are extremely excited to complete the record set by the Guinness Book of World Records. The challenge is to make 490 sandwiches or more to give to the Alpha Project a charity for homeless people.
Under the watchful eye of an adjudicator the children smashed the record by making 868 sandwiches in total. They showed great teamwork and confidence in the completing this heart warming challenge.

Chaim Heller is the school’s leader. He said he wanted his students to change the world! They just might have done so with their new record!
Early in the morning before the event, staff and children prepared everything getting ready for the event. They laid out all the ingredients for the sandwiches.
The man started the timer and the event started. All of the children quickly began making sandwiches. There was cheering from the children.
The three minutes was over and everyone stopped. The judge counted all of the sandwiches and to the amazement of the teachers, they made 868 a new world record!!!

Hi Miss I have written mine in my yellow book. I have the Guinness Book of Records at home and it is a lot of fun to read. My favourite record is for The most grapes eaten by some using their feet which is 53 in 3 minutes!!!

A team from Guinness World Records paid a visit to children from San Diego Jewish Academy in California.
They are trying to break world record in 3 minutes by making the biggest amount of sandwiches for charity Alpha Project.
Using teamwork, the parents and children prepared 50 tables with bread, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce at the school gym.
Under the watchful eye of an official GWR adjudicator the older and younger children were working very hard and fast. Food was flying everywhere!
The world record was achieved!!!! Everyone was cheering and high-fiving each other. The school broke world record!!!! They made 868 sandwiches in 3 minutes.

Parents from the school got all the information from the Guinness of World. They got the rules they had to follow and everything had to be recorded on video.
April 1 was a very important day for school because it was a record breaking day. They prepared 50 tables and sandwich products. The countdown began, excited children started making sandwiches, everyone was in a hurry.The younger children made one sandwich each and older students made two .

A School in California made 868 sandwiches in 3 minutes, a new world record!
The Guinness Book of Record team travelled down to watch the event take place and make sure the school followed the rules.
On the morning of the event the team of staff prepared the 50 tables with the sandwich ingredients. They used ham, lettuce and cheese for the filling and these ingredients were bought and laid out on the tables for the children to use.
Before the timer started the Guinness World Record adjudicator went through the rules with staff and children. All of the children put on gloves and aprons for health and safety. Then the excitement started.
The room was quiet and filled with suspense, the time had come!
The timer began and all of a sudden everyone felt a pang of pressure.
When they had finished, the sandwiches were counted out and suddenly everyone felt tense but the number was called out… 868!!!!!
They had done it, they had broken a world record!!!!

In San Diego, California, a School had an enormous event of having to make more than 490 sandwiches in 3 minutes and even though this sounds impossible, they made 868 sandwiches breaking the record but also nearly DOUBLING the old record.
But they STILL weren’t finished! They gave their 868 sandwiches to the charity, helping 868 people in need.

They did it in 3 mins!
50 tables were set up in the gym place, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and bread were flying all over the room.
They did more than their record.
Then the adults checked all 868 sandwiches.
Adults put them into containers and then delivered them to a charity group, named the Alpha project.
April the 1st, was the day when they did it. All of the people counted: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and after that, the room was filled with claps cheers plus woo hoo!!!
