This task will include a Big Question to reflect on about our Religious Education topic.
We have now completed our topic on ‘Pentecost’. It was so interesting to hear about all of your ideas and thoughts around the promise of the Holy Spirit and the coming of the Holy Spirit.
Our new topic is ‘Reconciliation’. We will focus on ‘Choices’.
Christians believe that, in Jesus Christ, the world has been reconciled to God. Through and in Christ, every human being is offered the power to reach out in forgiveness and peace, to receive and to offer reconciliation.
During this topic, we will explore the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We will discover and understand:
• Choices have consequences
• The importance of conscience in making choices
When making a choice, it is important to examine your conscience in order to make a good choice and minimise bad effects for ourselves and others. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a celebration of God’s love and mercy; it is about the forgiveness of sin and being reconciled with God and one another.
Big Question What do the words choice and consequence mean?
Think carefully about these words and write down what you think they mean. How do these words link together? Can feelings and beliefs affect people’s decisions about choices and their consequences?
Have a discussion with your family members about the Big Question and then write down your response on the blog. I look forward to hearing your ideas.
Choice is a decsion,it is based on what is good for me and other people.
Consequence is a result of a choice. Choices and consequences, can be good or bad.
Choice means you have a choice to either stop what your doing or carry on.
Consequence means of you don’t stop what your doing you will have a consequence for example you will lose your iPad
Choice means that you can do something without
someone bossing you around.
Consequence means if you have been bad there is a consequence
like going to hell.
Choice is a decision, it is based what is good for people and for me.
Consequence is a result of a big choice. Choices and consequences could be bad or good that’s why we need to be very carful not to make a bad choice
A choice is when you choose the decision that you are going to do, it can be kind , rude , helpful and lots of others.
A consequence is the result of your choice for example if you stole something the police might put you in prison .
Or it can be that you helped someone and the consequence is that you made him happy
Definitions
-Consequence
A result or effect, typically one that is unwelcome or unpleasant.
-Choice
An act of choosing between two or more possibilities.
They link together. For example, if you make a bad choice you get a consequence.
2.
Yes it can. For example, if I am overwhelmed I might break something and if you steal you will go to jail.
There are lots of different choices that people can make, good ones and bad ones. If sometimes people make bad choices and sometimes be mean and get very angry then there will be consequences. Like maybe you would end up in the Head teachers office or go to time out. And maybe your friend might not want to play with you any more.
So we need to think more carefully about how we treat others.
But of you do good things, then there are good consequences, like moving up the rainbow and seeing the head teacher for a good reason. Or your parents might give you rewards if you do very well.
we make choices everyday, if we are going to be a good person or a bad person. I think believing in God helps you to be a good person because you know that he is always around you and knows what you are doing.
Well done Sebastian. You have thought carefully about your answer. Well done for linking in your answers to God and how our faith can impact on our choices.
