Good morning Class 4!
How are you today?
We are continuing our learning on solving problems with money…
WORKBOOK: 4B
CHAPTER: 9
WORKSHEETS: 7 and 8
Some of you may have done these pages in your Maths No Problem books but please remember we are consolidating what we have already learnt (that means we are going back through everything to check we understand it) so if you can, do the pages again or go through your answers and check you are correct and understand your working out. Then have a go at the challenge tasks!
Sometimes we need to share amounts of money. For example, if you got for a meal and you need to divide the bill between you both…
(Click the image to enlarge it)
To share an amount of money between two friends, you just divide by 2.

I finished my worksheets and the challenge questions
Good morning miss Lee,
All is done ✅.
I finished all my pages and page 57 was a bit confusing. I do understand it except for the estimation of the socks
Completed maths very challenging
Good morning Miss,
I completed all my maths, it was worksheet 7 was a bit challenging at first but now I understand how to do it
I have done the lessons and the challenges.
Dear Miss Lee,
I have done the worksheets but the answers on the website on w8, 1, d and w8, 2, b, c, d, e seem wrong? Or do I round up wrongly?
Oh let me have a a look and I will get back to you!
So I’ve had a look Paolo and you need to round the numbers before adding. Don’t add then round your answer up or down. The point of the rounding is to quickly estimate the total in your head so you can get a rough idea of how much it will be before you go to pay.
So I 1d, one chocolate bar is £1.73
If we round that to the nearest pound look at the pence. If it is below 50 then round down, if it is 50 or above round up.
So here we round up so a chocolate bar is around £2.00
They bought 3 so:
3 × £2.00 = £6.00
For questions 2b-e it says round each number to the nearest £10 not the nearest pound. Check carefully you have done this and if you still have a question let me know!
I hope that was helpful! ☺️
Hello everybody,
Today I have done the Maths no problem pages with no problem and I hope you do too!
Done ✅!

hello miss
need help on 1st question
Hi Amarissa,
The first question on worksheet 7 or 8?
For worksheet 7…
A) the friends are sharing the bill equally between the 2 of them.
So you need to do £18.36 ÷ 2 (use your bus stop method)
B) The friends are sharing the bill where one of them pays twice the amount of the other. If you look at the diagram, they have used a bar model to show this.
The friend at the top has two bars and the second friend has 1 bar.
So you need to do £18.36 ÷ 3
to find out how much each bar is worth.
Then for the top friend, times your answer by 2 because they are paying twice as much (2 bars).
C) This time the top friend is payed 3 times as much. Look at the bar model. There are 4 bars here altogether.
So you need to do £18.43 ÷ 4
to find out the total of one bar. Then for the top friend, times your answer by 3 because they are paying 3 times the amount (3 bars).
I hope this helps, please tell me if what I have written is confusing or you have more questions and I will do my best to help further! Well done for asking me! ?
Completed Miss Lee. Thank you.
Well done Rafael! Thank you!
Thank you Miss Lee ?
