Every class will be looking at this topic for the final term.
Firstly, let’s remind ourselves: What is Great Britain?
Great Britain is a geographic term referring to the island also known simply as Britain. It’s also a political term for the part of the United Kingdom made up of England, Scotland, and Wales (including the outlying islands that they administer, such as the Isle of Wight).
United Kingdom, on the other hand, is purely a political term: it’s the independent country that encompasses all of Great Britain and the region now called Northern Ireland.

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all safe and well! I found today’s task fun!
Here is my information…
1) The different seas that run around Great Britain are:
– To the south by the English Channel, which separates it from continental Europe.
– To the east by the North Sea.
– To the west by the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
2) Five different rivers that run through one of the countries in Great Britain are:
– The River Thames, that runs into Continental Europe.
– The River Severn. It begins in Wales and enters the Atlantic Ocean near Bristol in England.
– The River Avon. If you look at the map, you would see that it flows in nearly all directions but it is closest to the North Sea.
– The River Trent. As I had said about one river, it flows madly everywhere. If you follow one way that The River Trent travels, with the map, you will see that it goes to the North Sea.
– The River Great Ouse. I followed one route and it ended up again, in The North Sea.
3) Six different cities in each country that make up Great Britain.

In my opinion, I think that Scotland is the most rocky/hilly place out of the four.
I also think that England is the least rocky/hilly place out of the four.

Hello everyone I hope you are all ok this is what I found out:
1] The names of five seas that go around Great Britain are the Celtic Sea, the Wash Sea, the North Atlantic Sea, the North Sea and the Irish sea.
2] Five rivers that flow through Great Britain are the River Thames the second largest river of Great Britain. There is also the River Severn which is the biggest river, River Avon which is also called Lower Avon. Also River Trent and the last river is River Great Ouse East Anglia. River Thames runs through the Celtic Sea and the River Trent runs through the Irish Sea and the Wash Sea. Also the River Severn runs through the Celtic Sea, the River Avon runs through the Wash Sea and lastly the River Great Ouse East Anglia run through the Wash Sea.
3] Six cities in Northern Ireland are Belfast, Londonderry, Antrim, Tyrone, Fermanagh and Armagh. Six cities in Wales are Bangor, Cardiff, Newport, St Asaph, Swansea and Wrexham. Six cities in Scotland Hamilton, Livingstone, Paisley, Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow. Six cities in England Bangor, London, Bath, Bradford, Birmingham and lastly Briton and Hove.
4] The country in Great Britain with the most mountains is Scotland and the country that has the least is Europe.

Here is my work, for the first time ever in lockdown, Erin and I did the work together!!
Activity 1:
– to the south is the English Channel.

– The River Thames runs through England and flows into the North Sea.
– The River Trent runs through England and it flows into the North Sea.
– The River Clyde runs through Scotland and flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
– The River Tyne runs through England and flows into the North Sea.
Activity 3:
Wales- Cardiff, Swansea, Newport,St Davids, St Asaph Bangor.
England- London, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham and Bristol.
Scotland- Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and St Andrews.
When I was researching this I found a fascinating fact about Wales. They have a town with a humongous name – it has 58 letters!!!

The River Thames is a river that flows through southern England, it is the longest river entirely in England and the second longest river in the United Kingdom.
Next is the River Severn which is the longest river in the United
Kingdom! It also is the river with the most voluminous flow of water by far in all of England and Wales.
The River Avon flows in almost every way on the map but it is defiantly closeted to the North see. To distinguish it from a number of other rivers of the same name, this river is also often known as Bristol Avon.
The River Trent is the third longest river in the United Kingdom River Trent goes almost every ware but it ends up in the North Sea.
The River Ouse is in North Yorkshire, the River is actually a continuation of the River Ure and the combined length of the River Ure and the River Ouse makes it, at 129 miles!

Hello everyone, here are my findings for today’s geography activities.
Activity 1:
The seas around Great Britain are: the North Sea, the Celtic Sea, the Irish Sea and the Baltic Sea. Other bodies of water surrounding Great Britain are: the Atlantic Ocean, the English Channel, The Wash, the Straight of Dover, The Minth, The Little Minth, Bristol Channel, Firth of Forth and Moray Firth.
Activity 2:
The rivers that I chose in Great Britain are: The River Severn, The River Thames, The River Great Ouse, The River Tay and The River Avon. The River Severn, the longest river in the British Iles, flows into the Bristol Channel while The River Thames runs into the North Sea. The River Avon also flows into the Bristol Channel before entering the Celtic Sea and Great Ouse flows into The Wash before entering the North Sea. Finally The River Tay, the river with the largest mean flow, runs into the North Sea.
