Well done for your hard work in phonics yesterday.
We are practicing hearing and saying the sounds that we have learnt at the beginning of words.
Look at the pictures and say the words; penguin, iguana, nest.
Can you hear and say the sound at the beginning of each word?
Can you do the action for the sounds?
Can you think other words that also begin with the sounds?
Can you find the sounds on the phonics mat?
Practice writing today’s letters in the air and on the table with your finger. You can also write the letter on your laminated card using a whiteboard pen or on paper using pen, crayons, paint or pencil.
I can’t wait to hear all about your phonics today.

Grace wrote out p, i and n. She wrote other words beginning with those letters with chalk! 🙂
Caspian was able To recognise the sound and practice it by doing the actions and writing all the letter down .

I heard the sounds p, i, n at the start of the words and found them on the phonics mat. I practiced writing them on my laminated card.
I thought of:
Puppy, pip, pack, pig, pond
Indigo, igloo,
Nose, neck, noddy

Ania said the words she hear and say sounds and wrote letters, we practiced writing these letters and also found other words.
Alexander was able to say the beginning sound of each word. He did the action sounds for the words and identified the sounds on the phonics mat.
The other words he thought of are:
Pencil, pink, pie, pony
Igloo, ink, indigo
Neighbour, name, Nando’s

Anna was able to answer the questions. We always have to repeat the beginning sound before the word as you suggested or else she struggles. She practiced writing too.

Super phonics, Nursery. It is so important to keep practicing hearing and saying the beginning sounds in words so that when you want to write a word by yourself, you will know what it begins with. Well done, everyone.
