Telling the Time to the Half Hour
You might remember from yesterday that when it is something o’ clock, the minute hand (that’s the long hand) is pointing to the 12.
Well, when it is half past something, the minute hand (the long hand) points to the 6. You also know its half past something because the hour hand (that’s the shorter hand) is half way between two numbers.

Have a look at these clocks. Some of the times are not written underneath. Discuss them with someone at home. Are the some o’ clock or half past something?
Now have ago at the worksheets and maybe even the challenges!
Perhaps you could find a clock in your house and see if you can tell the time on it?

All the clocks show half past times.
The ones missing are:
– half past five;
– half past eight;
– half past ten.
