Good Morning Year 2
Click here for a printable version of this blog post: Wednesday RE printable
Last week in RE, you made wonderful story boards that showed examples of when you have had to say sorry for something. Saying sorry can be hard to do because you have to admit that you made a wrong choice.
When someone does something wrong to us, and then says sorry, we have to forgive them. And sometimes, this can be the harder thing to do.
Jesus has one rule, love God and one another.Β In Johnβs gospel Jesus says:
Saying sorry and forgiving each other is an important way to make sure that we are not upset or angry with anyone, and that we are living in peace.
When we go to Mass, we give each other a Sign of Peace to show we follow Jesusβ rule by wanting to be friends with one another and prepare for Holy Communion. Β It also shows that we are forgiven and that we want to live in love and peace with each other.
Today I would like you to write a poem about peace, including what peace means, why it is important to feel peaceful and be peaceful, and why peace is important for Christians.
Write your poem as an acrostic poem. That means, the first letter of each line will spell out the word PEACE. Each line can be a word or a sentence, sharing what peace means to you.
Write out your poems neatly and then decorate them.
Have a look at these for some ideas and inspiration:
*To help us feel peaceful, we often do Mindfulness Colouring at school. Click on the link to get some peace colouring sheets which you can then do at home in your own time. I hope it helps you to feel peaceful. peace mindfulness colouring
