We left school at 9:15 very excited to play. Tommi, Freya, Kitty, Cameron, Hania, Jessie and I were off to the netball tournament! We took the bus 18; as we got out of the bus we saw other schools arriving. I was worried as there were tall children everywhere. We had arrived at Jubilee sports centre at about 9:50. Bang on time! When we sat down I could see the whole St. Vincent’s team faces worried but we all knew it was about the taking part. There were 4 schools which were taking part. The first match started and my heart was pumping a ridiculous rate. We all played as well as we could but we lost by a couple of good shots; we were gutted that we didn’t win. Fortunately, we didn’t play for the next match so we could catch our breath. Eventually, the 3rd match started and we were on. We had a tight match but we were getting better and better losing only by one goal. Next it was lunch. We all enjoyed it. I had a delicious chicken Caesar salad. Food for an athlete! Luckily there was spare time to practice so we passed the ball in a circle determined to win at least a few matches. The next few matches we didn’t play. Finally, it was our turn. We were triumphant, winning 4 goals to zero goals. It was our last match and we were all happy and exuberant even though we hadn’t won the tournament. We all had great fun going to the tournament and we all improved hugely.
