This term we have been leaning all about different gymnastics movements and jumps.
We have have learnt how to:
Tuck Jump – Knees up to chest.
Pike Jump – Legs straight out in front (this one is tricky!)
Straddle Jump – Legs to the side.
First we needed to learn what these movements would look like without jumping. We practised on the floor so we knew exactly what our bodies would be doing. Then we became experts and were able to perform the jumps safely on the mats.
Once we were confident with these three jumps we learnt about the star and dish movements that we could do after each jump.
