Nursery:Understanding the World

Today we had great fun exploring a real fish using our senses.

We wore aprons and gloves like real scientists.

We looked at, smelled and touched the fish. We listened to it but it didn’t make a noise and we didn’t want to taste it because it wasn’t cooked!

We had a great time investigating the fins, tail, scales, eyes, and gills and also looking inside.

We talked about what we had found out. Here are some of our comments:

“I saw eyes.”

“We need  to cook it and eat it!”

“I opened the fish and there was blood and bones and brains!”

“There was four fins.”

“I didn’t want to touch it because it was slimy!”

“It smells like fish!”
