Things are gearing up in Year 6 as we begin rehearsals for our end of year production.
All the children were brave and auditioned in front of the class which involved both singing and acting. Now the parts have been allocated and everyone is busy learning their lines!
As well as starting rehearsals, Year 6 have also been studying set and costume design (both are much more complex than we imagined!). It was fascinating to discover that traditionally in Shakespeare plays, the colour of the actors’ clothes symbolised their status in the play:
-
scarlet = rulers
-
dark blue = servants
-
yellow = jealous character
-
orange = pride
-
light blue = honour
-
rose = bravery
We are having such fun rehearsing but we’re not telling you what it is just yet…!
I really enjoy rehearsing with the whole class, singing and learning lines. 🎤
