We have had a fun-filled Art Week! We started our week with a workshop with The October Gallery. Esther taught us about the artist Rafael Trelles, she showed us some of his paintings and we thought about what we could see and how it linked to nature. We also thought about how his paintings made us feel; we discussed the use of colours and shapes.
She worked with us to create a circular pattern with our colours. We used paints to blend and colour mix on the paper. Then we created our own stencils using paper; we cut them into different shapes, which reflected nature and used these to make prints on top of our work. We experimented with different shapes and layering.
We then used clay; we took inspiration from his work and used mark making to create our own design. We have learnt so many different skills this week and had lots of fun!
