This week Year 4 have been getting really active in their P.E. lessons!
In Monday’s indoor lesson we began to look at dance.
During our warm up we used a range of high and low movements while travelling around the room in different ways such as skipping, crawling and jumping like frogs!
We then thought about how spies use high movements when they are in action or trying to escape a villain, and low movements when they are trying not to be seen.
Year 4 thought about some adjectives we might use to describe spies (mysterious, sneaky, secretive) and put these movements into action to form the basis of our work on a spy dance…
We thought about how in dance we count in beats of 4 and 8, to help keep us in time and separate the choreography into smaller chunks!
In Tuesday’s outdoor lesson the class enjoyed a wonderful session with a QPR coach!
The class played a wonderful game of spider webs to warm up using skipping ropes and spider webs and if they were caught had to be spun out of the spider’s web by another team mate!
Following this Year 4 practiced their underarm passing skills and were challenged to pass their ball to their other 3 team mates without dropping it.
It got very competitive and even Mr. Kersys joined in to help out…
Wonderful work in P.E. this week Class 4,
I am most looking forward to dancing to the spy music. I sometimes play spy with my little brother and I could teach him the dance.
