Year 1 have enjoyed a brilliant Enterprise week. As a class we decided to make and sell badges. We came up with a company name and logo – Brilliant Badges! We made posters to show everyone what the designs would look like and how much we were selling them for.
In Maths we have been learning about money. We have learnt the value of coins and pounds. We know that there are 100 pennies in a pound and that euros are not used in the United Kingdom.
In English we have been writing sentences to persuade people to buy our badges. We thought that they would make people happy and that they are colourful and fun.
We were really lucky to have two parents come into our class to talk about their jobs. We gained a valuable insight into different jobs and what inspired them to take on their roles. Thank you so much for your time. The children found it incredibly interesting and insightful.
Well done Year 1! You definitely demonstrated all your learning powers this week – resilience, reciprocity, resourcefulness and reflectiveness.
Have a look at some photos of this week (including the finished product)!
Have a lovely half term Year 1!
