In Year 3, we have started to celebrate our Advent topic. We have thought about the meaning of Advent and how it celebrates the time leading up to the birth of Christ.
We began our topic by learning about the Jesse Tree. The Jesse Tree is used in the lead up to Christmas, it celebrates important people and events from creation all the way to the birth of Jesus. Each day, a symbol is added to a bare tree that represents a story from the Bible. We have created our own Jesse Tree and added some of the symbols to it.
We have also thought about the importance of Advent Promises during this time. We though about how this is a time to reflect on ourselves and think of a promise to make ourselves even better people. We then published these and decorated them to display in class. In the New Year, we will look back on these promises and see if we have managed to keep them.
