In assembly this morning, Miss Coleman reminded us all about the important rules to remember when we are online.
Online means any time that we are using the internet. We realised that this included computers, tablets, phones, Nintendo switches and PlayStations.
Important rules for staying safe online:
- People you don’t know are strangers. They are not always who they say they are.
- Be nice to people on the computer like you would in the playground.
- Keep your personal information private
- If you ever get that ‘uh oh’ feeling, you should tell a trusted adult.
In the next few weeks, we’re going to be looking at each one in more detail. Remember, if you are ever worried about anything online, speak to your parents or someone at school. Each class has a Worry Box or you can used the online Worry Box.
Parents will be receiving an email this week with a questionnaire to complete to let us know anything you are concerned about regarding Online Safety. We have a parent session on Tuesday 8th February with our Computing consultant where she will be able to address these concerns and answer any questions you have.
If you have any other concerns or questions, please get in touch and we will work together to support you.
