This half term in our Shared Reading sessions, we have been studying the book, There’s a Rang-Tan in My Bedroom by James Sellick and Frann Preston-Gannon.
We have absolutely loved learning all about orangutans, and the way in which their home is being destroyed due to palm oil plantations. Alongside practising our comprehension skills, we have become passionate about the protecting the environment, especially endangered species. In the book, it suggests that we can help by telling other people about Rang-Tan. We thought that we could make posters which share the important information. To make our posters stand out, we watched a video that taught us how to draw orangutans. We practised these in our sketch books before beginning our posters.
We hope that you love our posters as much as we do, and we hope that you learn something new too!
