In our English lessons we have focused on our class text Stone Age Boy.
The story is about a boy from the modern day that somehow travelled back in time to the Stone Age! While there, he meets a character named Om and experiences what life was like then with her family. They hunted for food using spears, fished, made fire and even discovered cave paintings!
We thought about what it must have been like for the main characters in the story to not be able to communicate because of different languages in different time periods. We decided it must have been tricky, but knew there must be a way! We decided instead of talking, we could act out the many questions we would have for each other. With our partners, we had to practice asking and answering questions we may have when meeting someone new from the Stone Age!
