What a wonderful last week of term we have had in Year 1!
We started off our week on Monday with a visit from Iris from the organisation Mind. Iris talked all about how important it is to keep our mental and physical health in excellent condition. We spoke about what makes a good friend and how to be a good friend. Iris showed us a video from Sesame Street about how to make friends, and how to talk about our feelings when our friends aren’t being too kind.
Later on in the week, in class we spoke again about our understanding of what makes a good friend and a bad friend. We sorted qualities into those that relate most to good friends and those that relate to bad friends. We talked about how good friends are trustworthy, kind, they listen and they are respectful. Finally we also talked about the importance of saying sorry. We discussed the fact that all friends make mistakes but it’s about how we can come back together to say sorry and stay friends! We practiced role playing different scenarios and saying sorry.
Thank you all for such a wonderful term! I hope you have a joyous and relaxing Easter break, and enjoy your Easter cards that we made at school today. I can’t wait to see you all for our Summer term!
