Thank you so much to the brilliant St. Vincent’s Parents’ Association (SVPA) for funding this fabulous trip for Years 1 & 2!
We will be travelling by coach. We plan to leave school at the earlier time of 8:00am, and return to school at 4:30pm.
The purpose of this visit is to show the children a different geographical location and explore the different features of a seaside town, and most importantly have lots of fun. In addition we will have lots of opportunities to develop hands on skills as the children learn about sandcastle construction, seaside scavenger hunts, and different habitats.
All children need to have a rucksack that they are able to carry independently on their back. Children should wear their school PE kits and trainers. We recommend that you dress your child according to the weather e.g. PE shorts for warm weather, and have spare set of PE clothes, a towel and a lightweight water proof in their rucksack in case the weather changes. All children will need a healthy packed lunch, a snack and a bottle of water in their rucksack. They are welcome to bring a bucket and spade so long as they can carry it in their rucksack.

IMPORTANT:
· Although we are excited about visiting the beach, the children’s safety is extremely important to us. During the day we will be based near the lifeguard hut and will have a cordoned area in which we ask all parents and children to stay in unless stated otherwise. As the children are in our care we also ask parents to inform us if they need to leave the area or take their child to the toilet.
· The coach will leave school at 8:00am, we want to make sure we get plenty of time at the seaside!
· Please make sure your child has a packed lunch with their name on it. Unfortunately due to allergies children will be unable to share. Parents who are meeting us there, please send your child with their lunch in their bag.
· Sun cream must be applied prior to arriving at school and they will need to bring more (of their own) to reapply themselves throughout the day.
· Please bring plenty of water as the weather is forecast to be warm!
· If your child wants an ice cream please hand the money (£2.50) to the school office by Thursday 22nd June so we can place our order.
· All Year 1 and 2 pupils will be travelling on the coach with school staff.
· This special trip is for Year 1 and 2 children only and unfortunately siblings from within the school will not be able to attend.
· If you are meeting us in Broadstairs, please come and speak to us about younger siblings on the trip.
· If you are planning on attending the trip Miss Coleman will arrange supervision for St Vincent siblings on the premises from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
· All children will travel back on the coach. We will be back at school at 4:30pm for your child to be collected. Please make sure you are here on time.
We are hoping to have a really fun day which will round off a fabulous year.
