Exploring Weight and Capacity

This week we have been building on our understanding of weight and capacity. We spent some time revisiting some key vocabulary to show our understanding of weight; ‘heavy and light’ and for capacity; ’empty, half full and full.’

We explored our learning through weighing different objects in Little Red Riding Hood’s basket. We identified which objects were heavy and which were light objects. 

We also enjoyed using the water tray outdoors to explore capacity. We used different jugs, cups, beakers and containers to pour different amounts of water into them. We practised pouring water in our containers to show half full, full and empty. 

We were able to make our own predictions and talk about our findings using key vocabulary, we had lots of fun!
