As you will know, some members of Green Team and Year 2 have been working together on theย School Food Matters: Schools to Market Project.
We began with the Chutney Making Masterclass, next came our Fun Chutney Tasting Party followed by a visit to Cockbridge Farm. Finally Green Team joined Year 2 for their end of term celebration, where we made chutney using rhubarb harvested from the farm. The next step will be to sell the chutney to the public!
We are very excited to be going to Kensington Whole Foods Market this Wednesday, 12th July, from 11a.m.โ1 p.m.
It would be lovely if you could come and support us.
There are two delicious flavours to choose from:
- Rhubarb, Strawberry and Date Chutney ย – a flavoursome, thick chutney. A perfect accompaniment to cheese and cold meats.
- Tart, Spiced, Juicy Rhubarb Chutney – a slightly more liquid chutney. Excellent with hot, roasted meat and vegetables. This could also be used as a tasty marinade.
63-97 Kensington High St, London W8 5SE
Preparing the chutney was so fun with my mum and classmates! I was on the strawberries and dates table in the creativity room. The strawberries were so juicy when I chopped them and the dates were so sticky and gooey! Yummy! ๐ ๐
When can we taste it? ๐
I love this activity because we got to pour in ingredients for Group 2 and for group 1 they had to do the chopping. For group 2 we were doing our labels while Group 1 were chopping, our title / name of our Chutney was Year 2’s cheeky chutney! After both groups finished their jobs and are both in the classroom, we were drawing a picture of what we did in our groups during our parts of making Chutney, after we finished that we had to on the other side draw a picture of out experience on Crockford-Bridge Farm.
I hope everyone had a enjoyable day
I hope the cheeky chutney sold well and I thank you for this activity.
I would love to taste the finished results .
