In our music lessons with Mr Hylton, we have been learning about repeated rhythm patterns. We have listened to the C Jam Blues by Duke Ellington and have clapped along to the rhythm, following a ‘GG, GG, G, C’ pattern. From here, we have then been able to use a range of instruments such as keyboards, boomwhackers , xylophones and different orff instruments. We have played alongside one another to play this rhythm and have had to concentrate hard about when to play, when to pause and take a rest too! We have been able to share instruments with our friends and have also shown a good understanding of what a repeated rhythm is!

Thank you to Mr Hylton for this lesson! We are really enjoying our music lessons and can’t wait to learn more.
