As part of our celebrations for the Queens 90th birthday we entered the Rotary Club Poetry Competition. We were very pleased that the winner of the London District was Joseph Hayes and his poem was sent to Her Majesty. Today we were delighted to receive a special thank you card for Joseph with a beautiful photograph of the Queen on the front.
A Poem for H.M The Queen’s 90th Birthday
It’s your birthday today
And the whole country will play.
This day you will get a great amount of presents
And then, if you are lucky, a few little pheasants.
It’s ninety years since you were born,
Oh what a very happy dawn,
There will be ninety candles on your cake
Which took alot of hands to make.
There is great beauty in your bright blue eyes
And over the years you have had many a surprise
This is a day to celebrate
Because you make the nation great!
I wish you a very happy birthday
And many more days to come!
