Our new topic for Spring 1 is… ‘People Who Help Us.’
This is an exciting topic with plenty of opportunity to make connections between people and places. We will explore lots of different people who help us in our local community, from friends to doctors and from shop keepers to fire fighters. This topic will also provide us with the opportunity to discuss how we can help others too.
We would love to find out about what you know already about ‘People Who Help Us!’ What people help us in our community? What special jobs do they have?
We will share all of your responses in class which will create some fantastic discussions!
There are lots of people around the world who help us. Some of the people who help are vets, they help poorly animals. Lifeguards they look out to see if anyone is in trouble at the beach and the swimming pool and they have to jump in if anyone is hurt. The carers help people who are older and need extra help.
There are lots of people who helps us. My favourite are: policemem, who work for our safety and cleaners that pick up rubbish and keep our streets and our city clean. So they are very good for environment too.
I like policemen because they keep us safe by putting thieves in jail. And they also help us if we’re lost. They also help us find something that we lost that’s ours. And I also like fire fighters because they put out fires with their fire hose and they help our pets if they’re stuck on a tree or a roof. I also like bin collectors because they keep our streets and homes clean and keep germs away from everything
Over Christmas we had to call for help, as my nanny broke her arm whilst we were skating on the embankment. We had a trip in the ambulance to the hospital. The paramedic was so kind and helpful along with all the other members in our city people that help us.
I like doctors and nurses because they help people to get better. When I got sick, I went to the hospital and the nurses and doctor looked after me and check on my body if everything is alright.

People who help us are our families, also doctors when we are sick. These people are very important to us as they make us better.
The police helps us to stay safe. I like the teachers because they help us to learn new things.
