In Year 2, we have been creating some amazing homework this term!
Our topic of London has been fantastic and we have learnt so much, from history to geography. We have learned all about the Great Fire of London and have then moved on to learn about the geography of our city, including lots of landmarks. We have researched different chosen landmarks to find out more information about them, from when they were built to how many tourists visit there each year.
As part of our homework, we have been very creative! We have made tourist guides and fact-files with beautiful illustrations, and we have also made our own versions of landmarks! Some of us built these and then placed them around the River Thames, using our knowledge of North, East, South and West to be able to accurately do this! One of us made Big Ben, with facts inside too! It was brilliant. We also had a fantastic Tower Bridge, with it’s very own hydraulics to make the bridge open! We got the chance to listen to an explanation of how this works, and then we had a go at playing with some of the figures included too.
Thank you so much to those children who worked hard, alongside adults at home to create such amazing pieces of work. All of you have been working so hard this term, and should be very proud of all that you have achieved. I hope that you all have a fantastic Christmas break and spend time relaxing with your families.
I hope you had fun making London landmarks on your last day. Merry Christmas.
Making Tower Bridge move up and down was a lot of fun! I loved seeing everyone else’s models too. It makes me want to make them too.
Amazing homework Year 2!
THOSE ARE AWESOME! Excellent job year 2, that must have taken a lot of focus and time.
Such good homework. I’m in year four and those are better than mine!
