To launch our Science Week, we welcomed Prem and Gabriella to our assembly.
Prem and Gabriella are from AVEEA who lead our STEM after school club, so it was really nice to see them again!
They showed us what happens when you mix bicarbonate of soda with vinegar – it was a bit of a mess! During the day KS1 and KS2 classes will be using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to make a rocket shoot up into space. But it happened so quickly that there was no way we could put it in our rocket and move away safely.
They reminded us of this year’s theme of ‘Time’ and challenged us to think about how we could slow the reaction down. We’ll have to find out if anyone managed to do this in their workshops!
We also have our poster competition and can’t wait to see all the entries when they are handed in on Friday! Here is all the information again as a reminder!
