Today we were delighted to welcome Katie Waring from the Catholic Children’s Society (CCS) to our school. Katie delivered a reflective assembly to explain the CCS Lenten Appeal ‘Growing Together’ which encourages children to grow closer to God during Lent. Inspired by Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia or ‘The Joy of Love’, the appeal also explores how schools across our Diocese are working together to make a difference and help our brother and sisters in need. Today every child will be given an activity sheet or workbook to complete as well as a Lenten Collection Box. They will also bring home an information leaflet for parents so you can find out more about the appeal and the valuable work of the CCS. Please return the boxes to school after the Easter holiday.
