In Reception this week, we have been busy constructing our own 3D animals! As we have been developing our knowledge about different jungle animals, we each chose a jungle animal to construct. We identified which countries they live in on our class world map and talked about the different features the animals have.

We used a range of materials to construct our animals including bottles, egg boxes, rolls, card, paper, pipe cleaners and googly eyes.  We listened carefully to some helpful tips about how we can make the legs and other features of the animals by cutting and folding small pieces of card. After some help from an adult we used adhesive tape to help join our materials together. We then used paint to add colour. We tried hard to use care and precision when adding each part including the eyes, nose and mouth.

Reception followed instructions carefully and showed lots of independence when creating their 3D animal, well done Reception!

Have a look at our finished 3D animals!
