After what felt like a long journey, we arrived safely at Sayers Croft. Gail, our Sayers Croft leader, met us off the bus and led us to our dormitory, ‘Abinger’.
We practised what to do when the fire alarm goes off and then we had our biggest challenge, making our beds. We all confidently said that we help our parents make beds at home but found that it was a lot harder than we thought!
After our beds were made, we headed off to dinner. We had a delicious spaghetti bolognaise and apple crumble before coming back to our dorm to finish unpacking all our things.
Then we did our first activity, orienteering! We had a map that we had to label by exploring the Sayers Croft area and finding the names of all the dormitories.
We then had a very special treat. As it is someone’s birthday today and someone’s yesterday, so we had some birthday cake!
We’re heading to bed soon. The teachers are all hoping that we’ll all go to sleep quickly and so they can have a quiet night. We’ll let you know in the morning what happens!

We had such an amazing time at Sayers Croft! When we got there we had to make our bed and then we had a lot of fun doing Orienteering. We had to fill in a crossword by using a map. I really enjoyed singing happy birthday to the two girls in our class`.
