Breaking news! Year 2 had an excellent week!
I have a wonderful piece of heart-warming news to share with you all. A member of the public contacted the school to say they shared a tube carriage with our class whilst we were en route to the Tower of London last week. They noted the following:
βOn Thursday 10th October my husband and I had the great pleasure of meeting a group of children and their teachers who were on their way to the Tower of London.
We were utterly charmed by their enthusiasm, knowledge and excellent manners, particularly young B, and wanted to extend our compliments to you, the teaching staff and the students – what an advertisement for your school.β
All I have to say is that this made my day! Even my year! Year 2 should be extremely proud of themselves.
In science class this week we learned all about food chains. We discussed the transfer of energy along the chain and about how each plant or animal in the chain depends on the other to survive.
In Maths class this week we continued our exploration of addition and subtraction in all its forms. We did a lot of individual and group work on our boards. We looked at numbers bond to 20, adding three digits, adding and subtracting across the ten and adding tens together.
The class also brought to school some of their optional homework project pieces. We stood up and presented them to the class and teacher was blown away by the absolutely amazing work.
Mr. Sheehan
Absolutely amazing posters and food chains! Well done Y2!
I loved showing our projects!
I simply loved last week. It was fun when Mr. Sheehan put on the video of the blade of grass sunbathing and we learnt all about food chains. Thank you Mr. Sheehan I really liked doing my optional homework projects. It was SUCH a fabulous week! It was funny when on the foggy day, the BT Tower disappeared. It was SUCH SUCH SUCH a fabulous week 7!
What a lot of work. Well done!
