This week’s Wednesday word is Baptism. Baptism is the first sacrament in our catholic life. Baptism is when you enter God’s family. Jesus got baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan’s river. When Jesus got his head out of the water the Holy Spirit appeared. In John 3:5 Jesus said ‘ No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the spirit’.

This week’s wednesday word is all about BAPTISM!!!!!
In the gospel reading, it is talking about how Jesus was baptised in the river Jordan and he was baptised by John the baptist. The first sacrament in our religion is baptism.

  3. This weeks gospel is baptism .
The gospel is about when Jesus gets baptised and when John the Baptist baptises him .
When we are born the first sacrament we have is our baptism.

This weeks Wednesday word is Baptism. Baptism is when you are anointed with the Oil of Chrism by the Priest and welcomed into the Kingdom of God. In this Gospel, people thought that John the Baptist was the Messiah, but “I coming, someone who is more powerful than I am, and I am not fit to undo the strap of his sandals; he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire”. John the Baptist was talking about Jesus. When Jesus was being Baptised, the gates of heaven opened and a voice said,“You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you.”

Another word for Baptism is Christening. Here we can see that ‘Christ’ is in the name itself.
Today is the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. This day marks the end of the Christmas season.

  6. I think John the Baptist drew attention away from himself and towards Jesus because he wanted to show that Jesus is the Son of God. John was humble although he performed an important task. He baptised Jesus so the Holy Spirit could come down on him. Jesus was God even before the Holy Spirit came down on him so this was just to show to the people that he was God.

This week’s Wednesday word is JOY! Joy is an emotion that you feel when you are probably happy about something. We can show joy by not making people worried but still we can do many other things to help. We could even bring joy to the animals by no deforestation because that is ruining lots and lots of animals’ habitats. Jesus’ disciples showed their joy in the bible because they got told that Jesus resurrected from the dead. Jesus showed joy because he was happy to help the poor, he didn’t ignore God by not doing what he asked but Jesus agreed to do it and that’s what we should always do:listen to God and not ignoring him.

  8. This week’s Wednesday word is JOY. God wants us to be joyful. To be close to God, to follow Jesus footsteps makes us happy and smiling and makes us willing to help and be kind with each others.

  11. Joy is the word of the Gospel this week.
Joy means that God and his Jesus wants us to be happy. At Cana there was Joy because Jesus made water tuned into wine and everyone was happy and could see the power of God.

  12. This weeks Wednesday word is JOY
To be joyful you have to be kind and caring to your friends and family.
When Jesus came back from the dead he showed joy to the poor by helping them with all their needs .

  13. Joy is infectious said Mother Theresa. I bring joy to my mum and dad by simply being there. I am joyful when I look forward to something and am excited. My little sister is always joyful because she is easily excited. We should all be like this.

This week’s Wednesday word is Good news! The good news in the bible is that Jesus resurrected from the dead. But some good news aren’t always from the bible, some can be on the newspaper, or it could be on the home page of google if you scroll down. An example of real life good news are that your favourite football team has won!

  22. Ambery5🙋‍♀️❤️ says:

This weeks word is GOOD NEWS. In this Gospel Jesus talks about all the good things God has done for us (this is good news). He does this on sabbath day in the synagogue (like he usually does). But when he comes to sit down he says “This scripture is being fulfilled today even as you listen.” Which was true.
