In art this half term we are focusing on collages, in particular the work of Henri Matisse. Henri Matisse was a famous French artist who is seen to be one of the leading figures of modern art. His work includes unique shapes, bright colours and bold designs.
Year 1 started the term by looking at Matisse’s work and describing it, they discussed the features of his work and why he could have possibly chosen to create art work of this kind.
This week we had the opportunity to create a collage ourselves inspired by Henri Matisse’s work. We used a range of colours, shapes and designs and created amazing collages. Well done Year 1 you are so creative!
