What an exciting week we’ve had in class! The students have been working hard and having a blast while learning new things. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to this week.

In English, we focused on creative writing, drawing inspiration from the book Send for a Hero. The students really got into the story and were eager to create their own exciting adventures. We spent time planning and writing our stories, and I couldn’t be more impressed with their creativity. Each student came up with unique heroes, challenges, and journeys, and it was amazing to see how their imaginations soared. We also created wanted posters for the villains in the story.

In Maths, we started exploring measurement, specifically centimeters and meters. The students were excited to measure everything around them—from their desks to their classroom supplies! They quickly learned how to use rulers to measure accurately, and it was a joy to watch them engage in hands-on activities. They’re now confident in measuring both short and long objects, which is such an important skill.

Another highlight of our week was the workshop with Adam from Toucan Roar, where we explored the art of performing poetry. Adam showed the class how to bring poetry to life by using voice, movement, and expression. The students really embraced the challenge, and it was incredible to see them perform their poems with such energy and enthusiasm. They learned that poetry can be more than just words on a page—it can be a performance full of emotion and creativity!
