Science Week in Year 2 has been incredible! We’ve explored fascinating topics, asked big questions, and taken part in some amazing hands-on experiments. One of the most exciting activities was our volcano workshop, where we learned how volcanoes form and erupt.

We discovered the science behind these powerful natural wonders, learning about magma, lava, and gases. It was amazing to see how real volcanoes work and understand what causes eruptions.

Then came the best part—creating our own erupting volcanoes! Using clay, we carefully shaped and built our volcanoes. Once they were ready, we added the key ingredients for an eruption: vinegar and baking soda. As soon as we poured in the vinegar, we watched in amazement as the ‘lava’ bubbled and frothed over the top, just like a real volcanic explosion!

This experiment was not only exciting but also helped us understand chemical reactions in a fun and engaging way. It was fantastic to see science come to life!
