This week, we continued exploring our Seasons topic by discussing the different types of weather which happen in each season.
We talked about how weather changes each day but the seasons have types of weather which happen more often in that season. For example, spring is often sunny, summer is usually hot, autumn is more definitely cold and rainy, and winter is frosty.
The children then focused on the importance of wearing the right clothing for each season to stay warm or cool (as well as safe!) depending on the weather. For our activity, they had a selection of clothes to cut out and match with the appropriate season. There were clothes and accessories such as coats, sunglasses, sandals, hats and t shirts. It was a fun challenge to try and figure out which clothes belonged in which season because some clothes could be worn in more than one-especially in the UK! The children had to think carefully and make thoughtful choices about where to place each item.
Well done Reception! I really enjoyed exploring the different types of weather we experience throughout the year and how to dress appropriately!
