Good Morning Year 2!
Click here for a printable version of this blog post: Friday Art printable
I know how much you all enjoyed our day weaving with Daniel Harris, have a look at our old new post to remind yourselves.
Daniel taught us that weaving can be done with ANYTHING! Material, string, paper, rubbish, newspapers…anything that is flexible can be used!
You can use anything you have at home. I’m going to explain how to make it using paper, but you can try it with paper or anything else you’d like to use.
The first thing you need to know is the two parts. There is the loom and the weft materials.
The loom is the base, which you weave into. The weft materials are the strips of paper that you weave with.
This website has step by step instructions that explain how to make your loom and then how to weave.
Just remember:
If you want to challenge yourself, see if you can make it in the colours of the Union Jack (red, white and blue). If you’re feeling really creative, you could try and make a picture with your weaving. Just make your loom a different shape (not just a rectangle).
Jack I love your weaving 🙂 I especially like your decorations on it. Is that your cat?
Beautiful work Esther 🙂 I love how neatly you have made it. Well done!
Fantastic Anna 🙂 I really like the colours you have chosen to use and that you’ve managed to use three different colours.
Hello Miss
I have finished my work.
I am so impressed Marisa that you coloured in all your pieces of white paper to make your work so colourful 🙂 I really enjoyed the patterns you made with the symbols as well.
Ah Nadine! Your Nana will love to receive this, it’s beautiful!
How creative Layla! Is it a Christmas tree?
Beautiful work Rex! Did you enjoy making it?
