Our new Geography Topic is Coasts and Climate!
This is a brand new topic so we are very lucky to be learning all about it! I am looking forward to seeing all of the new wonderful things we will be learning about.
Within this topic we will be learning all about the world, its seven continents and the many countries within them. We will be looking at where the North and South Pole are on a globe and learning about what the temperatures are like in these parts of the world.
We will be looking more closely at different weather and climates across the world, and thinking about what you would see when you are at the coast! Within the topic we will be thinking about the different animals that live all over the world and how they are built for the climate they live in. Some animals also adapt or travel between different climates throughout the year, or even hibernate through different seasons. In addition this all of this, we will also be looking at a variety of different plants and vegetation that grow in specific climates, including how and what they grow.
This term we are going to be visiting Broadstairs Beach to see features of the English coast, and we will be comparing this to a coast line on the other side of the world!

Broadstairs was an amazing adventure and a fun way to learn our topic. Sand castle competition, seagulls and ice cream added a lot fun to a very memorable day! Let’s do it again!
